I’ve spent more than 20 of those years building websites for small businesses, and today I also set up practical LinkedIn enquiry systems for owner-led businesses.
So I understand what it’s like when you’re doing the work, looking after customers and still somehow expected to keep new business coming in.
HOW I GOT HERE
I built my first website in 1999. Back then, websites were very different, but what small businesses needed from them wasn’t.
People needed to understand what you did, trust you and know what to do next.
More than 20 years later, that’s still how I approach websites. And it’s the same thinking behind the LinkedIn system I now set up for clients.
Keep it clear. Make it useful. Make it something a busy business owner can actually use.
AWAY FROM WORK
I’m based in Blackpool, and football has always been part of the family.
My dad played professionally for Hearts, Crystal Palace and Blackpool, and my uncle John White was part of Tottenham’s famous double-winning side.
I’ve been self-employed for more than 30 years myself.
The work ethic and stubbornness probably came from somewhere.
